Ecosystem work model

Collaboration between developers and designers in our ecosystem fosters a growth-oriented space for creators, benefiting both individuals and the organization. While interest in the Coltrane system is rising, meeting Coppel's diverse business demands remains a challenge. Continuous improvement and teamwork were essential to address these challenges and enhance the system's effectiveness.

Charting the Evolution

Upon joining the team, my first step was to gather, comprehend, and compile a comprehensive historical document, which we now refer to as Coltrane.backstage. This document meticulously chronicles the evolution of the Coltrane system since its inception in 2018. Through this documentation, we gained valuable understanding and experienced significant growth.

Fostering Collaboration

Within such a large organization, securing the first believer is crucial. In our case, it was the first manager who joined forces with our mission. We offered them a space where their designers could experience growth, gain valuable experience, and, most importantly, receive recognition.

Centralized Design Website

A comprehensive platform was established to set the ground rules and kickstart the dynamics of the current system. After three quarters, the system has transcended from being merely a group of designers collaborating for the common good; it now resembles a cohesive community.

Coltrane units

Each vertical answers the question: What is Coltrane? Whether it's for a component, a login page, some icons, or for Android. In this way, each of us contributes our bit so that not only we, but everyone in the group, can tell the same story with the same colors, typography, and design patterns.

In this ecosystem, we have principals who lead other designers and developers, creators who challenge the group weekly to explore new tools, and stakeholders and managers who are actively involved in our meetings each week.

One of our main principles was inspired by Facebook -BETTER DONE THAN PERFECT- every week, we aim to create impactful results with minimal effort.

I've gained valuable insights from this process. Being part of a large organization necessitates understanding diversity, inclusion, and the use of different languages across teams and divisions. My primary goal was to inspire others to become the design leaders the system requires, focusing on enhancing the user experience.
